Method
Measure the bajra flour and salt. Heat the water for 2 to 3 minutes until hot, then keep it aside until it is safely warm to touch.
Mix the salt into the warm water. Add it little by little to the bajra flour and knead for 8 minutes until the dough is soft and smooth, with no dry flour left. Cover and rest it for 10 minutes.
Heat a tawa on medium flame for 3 minutes until evenly hot. Divide the dough into 4 equal balls and keep a little dry bajra flour ready for dusting.
Take one dough ball and pat it between your palms into a thick round roti, about 12 to 14 cm wide. Dust lightly only if it sticks. Place it on the hot tawa and cook for 2 minutes until small bubbles appear, then flip and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until brown spots appear on both sides. Repeat with the rest of the dough and serve hot.
