    Peel the skin of the lotus stem and slice thinly. Drain on tissue to dry.

    Dust it with cornflour. Fry in hot oil for a minute and drain it on tissue. Fry again in hot oil until crispy. Drain and keep aside.

    In a pan, heat oil, add chopped garlic, chilli flakes, sesame seeds. Add tomato ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, salt, MSG, honey and stir. Once the sauce thickens, add the fried lotus stem. Toss to mix well. Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately so that it’s crispy.
