    Wash the fish and make a few slits on both sides of the fish

    Heat oil in a pan to shallow fry, once the oil is hot, add the fish to the pan. Ensure caution, oil might splatter. Cook each side for 3 minutes or until the fish is crispy and cooked. Remove from the oil and set this aside.

    In a pan, add oil, finely chopped onion and saute until the onions turn translucent.

    Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.

    Add the red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt. Add 1 cup of water and cook the masala for 3 minutes.

    Add the fried fish to the pan and coat the masala on the fish, flip and cook for 1 minute each side.
