    Wash the fish slices. Marinate it with turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice and let it rest for 10 minutes. Heat a tawa, add oil and sear the marinated fish to a golden brown colour on both sides and set it aside.

    In a pan, heat oil, add cinnamon, cumin, mustard, curry leaves, green chilies and. Let it crackle.

    Add the chopped onions and saute it till it is golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook it for a few seconds.

    Add the tomatoes and cook it till it is mashed.

    Add the coconut milk. Mix it well.

    Season the gravy with salt and pepper and let it simmer.

    Add tamarind paste, sugar, fresh cream, and mix it well.

    Add the fish to the gravy, cover the pan and let it simmer for a few more minutes.
