Cookd masalas for seer fish
Method
Soak the byadgi chillies and the tamarind in the hot water for 15 minutes.
Drain the chillies, keeping the water. Grind the chillies, tamarind, ginger garlic paste, coriander seeds, black peppercorns, turmeric powder and salt with 50 ml of the soaking water to a thick, smooth paste. Mix in the rice flour.
Rub the paste well on both sides of the seer fish slices. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.
Heat the coconut oil on a tawa on medium heat. Add the curry leaves, then place the fish slices on the tawa. Fry on medium-low heat for 5 minutes on each side without moving them, until the crust is dark red and the fish is cooked.
Turn the heat to high and fry for 1 minute more on each side until the edges are crisp. Serve hot with rice and fish curry, or with neer dosa.
