Cut the chicken into large pieces. Add salt, turmeric powder and water and pressure cook for 15 mins on a low flame after the first whistle on a high flame.

Allow the pressure to release naturally and shred the chicken pieces and discard the bones.

In a kadai, heat oil and add the mustard seeds and let them splutter, add the red chillies and curry leaves. Add the shallots and saute until brown.

Add the ginger garlic paste and tomatoes and cook until mushy.

Add red chili powder, salt and the chicken and cook for 5 to 7 mins on a medium flame.
