    Wash and strain the kuthiraivali (horsetail millet) and moong dal. Add it to a pressure cooker along with 3 ½ cups of water and salt. Cover and pressure cook it for 4 whistles. Let the steam reduce gradually.

    For the tempering, heat a pan and add ghee. Add the cumin seeds, Green Chilli, ginger and let it crackle. Add the cashew nuts and let it start to brown. Add the tempering to themixture in the cooker and give it a good mix. Serve it hot with chutney.
