Method
Take the ready idli dosa batter in a bowl. Mix it gently and add water little by little until it is thick but easy to pour. Do not make it as thin as dosa batter.
Heat a tawa on medium flame for 2 minutes until a few drops of water sizzle and dry at once. Pour a little oil on it and spread it lightly.
Pour one ladle of batter in the centre and spread it gently into a thick round uttapam. Keep the flame medium and drizzle a little oil around the edges. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the top looks set and the bottom turns golden.
Flip the uttapam and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the second side is cooked and has light golden spots. Remove it from the tawa and repeat the same way to make about 8 uttapams.
