Combine the ingredients in a bowl and incorporate the butter to get a crumbly texture.

Add curry leaves and chana dal. Add water a little at a time to get a smooth and firm dough.

Spread a dry, clean cloth. Dive the dough into roundels and pat each roundel with greased hands to form a disc, not too thin.
