    Separate the florets from the Banana Flower making shore to keep them in the same bunch. Do not throw away the core, fine-chop it and add it to your vadai. Rub the florets on your palm to expose the stigma and remove it. Finely chop the florets and add it to plain buttermilk (this prevents it from going black)

    In a mixer jar add the garlic, dried red chilli, and channa dal. Before adding the banana florets to the blender wash them in clean water, Reserve some to add later

    Blend the ingredients until a thick very coarse paste forms

    Add in all the other ingredients and the banana florets and mix thoroughly
