Method

    Heat oil in a kadai, Add mustard, urad dal, dry red chilli, curry leaves and let it crackle.

    Add the onions and saute till it turns translucent. Add a pinch of asafoetida, mix it well. Cook the onions till they start to turn light brown.

    Add the masala, mix it well and let it cook for a minute.
