Wash and soak the basmati rice for 20 minutes.

Heat a pressure cooker, add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. Let them crackle. Add green chillies, chopped coriander and mint and saute for a few seconds. Add kashmiri red chilli powder and mix till the mixture turns red.

Add the chicken pieces, mix it well with the masala for 2 minutes. Add the cookd onion tomato masala and saute for 2 minutes. Add water, salt and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Add the soaked and strained rice and mix it gently. Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistle and turn off the flame. Let the steam reduce gradually. Serve it hot with raita.
