Heat a pan, dry roast the whole black pepper, dry red chilies, coriander, and cumin seeds. Put it in the blender and blend it to a fine powder. Keep it aside.

Heat another pan, add oil. Add the cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, curry leaves, green chilies, and let it crackle.

Add the onions and cook it till it turns golden brown.

Add the tomatoes and cook it till it is mashed and let’s out oil on the sides.

Add the potatoes, mix it well and let it cook for a while.

Add the masala, cook it till it gives out an aroma. Add water, mixt it till it combines with the masala

Add the chicken, mix it till it coats evenly, and cook it for a few minutes.

Add salt and sugar. Mix it well.

Cover the pan and let it cook for 20 minutes on a medium flame, stirring occasionally.

Check if the chicken and potatoes are cooked. Transfer it to a bowl. Garnish it with chopped coriander. Serve it hot.
