    Heat oil over medium heat in a pan, preferably non-stick. Using eggs that are fresh and refrigerated will help to retain the shape of the yolk. Gently pour the egg into the pan.

    Season with salt and pepper, if using. Continue cooking on medium heat until the egg whites have solidified, but the yolk is still jiggly. If preferred, you can cook it further.
