To the chicken, add lemon juice, salt and turmeric powder. Cover and rest until the other steps are done.

Place a pan on the stove over medium-low heat. Add all the spices and saute for a few minutes until it turns aromatic. Allow it to cool down slightly, then grind it into a fine powder.

Heat oil in a kadai/pan. Add onion and saute until it starts to turn golden brown.

Add ginger garlic paste and green chilli. Saute for 2 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and the prepared spice mix. Saute for a minute.

Add the tomato and continue to cook until the tomatoes soften.

Add the chicken and saute on high heat for 3-4 minutes.

Reduce the flame to low, cover and cook for 5 minutes.

At this point, the chicken will start releasing water. Add beaten curd and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 more minutes on low heat. Open the lid and cook on high heat, while stirring continuously, until the excess liquid gets evaporated.

Add coriander leaves and Kasuri methi. Give it a final stir and remove from the heat. Serve with rice, roti or any Indian bread.
