    Heat oil in a pan and add the whole spices and curry leaves. Saute for a few seconds.

    Add the onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add the tomato and fried gram. Saute until the tomato starts to soften.

    Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and chicken masala. Saute for 3-4 minutes on medium heat, then turn off the heat. Once it cools down, grind it into a paste adding water as required.

    Heat oil in another pot and add fennel seeds, curry leaves and onions. Saute until the onions turn translucent.

    Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes. Add the chicken, turmeric powder and water. Bring it to a boil.

    Add salt and the prepared masala paste. Once it boils, reduce the heat to low, cover and cook for 20 minutes. Add water as needed to adjust the consistency. Simmer for 2-3 more minutes. Sprinkle coriander leaves and turn off the heat.

    i tried this recipe with so much enthusiasm to prepare.. but only 1 ingredient which spoil the taste is, kalpasi quantity.... small bit is enough.. but you said as 1 tbsp, which makes the dish bitter... otherwise gud
