    Soak the tamarind in water and keep it aside.

    Heat oil in a pot and add the mustard seed. Let it splutter. Add garlic, ginger and green chillies. Saute for a few minutes.

    Toss in some curry leaves also. Add turmeric powder and kashmiri chilli powder. Mix it well. Add the dates and combine them well with the masala
