Add the ingredients for pureeing to a blender and blend them to a fine paste.

Heat oil in a pan, add fennel, cumin seeds, curry leaves and let them crackle.

Add the onions and saute till they turn golden brown.

Add the tomatoes and masala powders and cook it till the tomatoes start to mash. Add the curry leaf paste and cook it well for a minute.

Add a little water, mix it and cover the pan. Let it cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the prawns to the thokku, add salt and mix well and mix well for another 7-10 minutes till the prawns are completely cooked. Garnish it with fried curry leaves and serve it hot with rice, parotta or any tiffin item.
