Turn the kettle on and add the oil, the onion, and the green chilli. It should start to sizzle. If its getting too hot, turn the kettle off and stir with a spoon.

Once the onions have softened, around 1 minutes, add salt, followed by the tomato. Keep cooking the onion tomato mixture until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.

Then add the chicken, rasam powder and red chilli powder. Give it a quick stir and add water. Allow the kettle to boil for 10-15 minutes. Once the chicken and the spices have cooked, keep boiling until the gravy becomes thick, like a thokku Turn the kettle off and enjoy hot!
