    In a mixer jar, add all the ingredients for the paste and blend until smooth. Set aside.

    In a kadhai pour, add sesame oil and the cumin seeds, fenugreek seed, and mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds splutter and the fenugreek turns golden, add in the garlic. Saute the garlic on a moderate flame until golden brown, soft and aromatic.

    Add in the prepared paste, and saute on a moderate flame for 3 minutes until the raw flavour disappears. Add the tomatoes, and turmeric powder and saute on a moderate flame until the raw flavour disappears and the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.

    Pour water and bring it to a boil. Let the kozhambu cook until nice and thick (around 4-5 mins) Serve hot with ghee and rice.
