Wash and soak the channa dal for 8 hours. Now pressure cook the channa dal for 3 whistles on a medium flame.

Add coconut and fennel seeds to a mixer and blend into a paste.

In a kadai, heat oil and add cinnamon, onion, and garlic. Sauté for a minute. Now add tomato, cluster beans, red chili powder, and salt. Sauté for 2 minutes.

Add water, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.

Open the pot, add the soaked and cooked channa dal along with the coconut paste. Add some water and simmer until everything combines well. Finally, add curry leaves and serve hot with your meal.
