Wash the rice and moong dal, and pressure-cook them for 3 whistles.

In a kadai, add water, all the vegetables, onion, tomato, red chilli powder, salt and turmeric powder. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes on medium flame.

Once the vegetables are cooked, add the cooked dal, coconut and coriander leaves. Simmer for 2 minutes.
