    In a pan add oil, channa dal, cumin seeds, and mustard seeds, and saute until the colour starts changing. Now add shallots, ginger, garlic, and dried red chilli. Saute until there are char marks on the shallots. Remove it from the pan and let it cool on a plate.

    Now, in the same pan, add curry leaves and lady finger. Keep sauteing until there are char marks on the lady fingers. Turn off the heat and add salt, green chilli, and tamarind.

    Let it cool, once fully cool, add it all into a blender and blend it into a fine paste. Serve it with hot rice, dosa, or idli, and enjoy.
