    Grind grated coconut with dry red chilli, ginger, garlic, black peppercorns, cinnamon, cloves, cumin seeds, poppy seeds and fennel seeds into a smooth paste, adding a little water.

    Heat oil in a cooking pot, add the bay leaf, Chopped onions and fry until brown. Add the spice paste and fry for 15 mins over low heat, adding 2 tbsp of water in between.

    Add the meat and saute for 5 mins over moderate heat.

    Add Salt, Chilli powder and coriander powder.

    Add tomatoes and saute for another 5 mins.

    Add 4 Cups of water, cover and cook the curry for 45 mins, until the meat is well cooked and tender.

    Add coconut milk, simmer for a few minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice/roti/paratha.

    Too good. The only change I made was that I pressure cooked it due to the lack of time. Still turned out good. As a personal preference, I added potato as well.
