Peel and chop the potato into large chunks. Add 1 cup water, salt and turmeric powder. Pressure cook for 5-6 whistles. Open the cooker after the pressure settles and then mash the potatoes completely.

In a tadka pan, heat ghee and splutter mustard seeds. Add dry red chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida and mix. Add this into the no-dal. You can adjust the salt and consistency with ½ Cup water, if needed. Bring the no-dal to a boil. Finish with fresh, chopped coriander leaves and more ghee, if desired. Serve hot with rice and ghee.
