    Heat the oil in a pan, saute onions and tomatoes for 3 minutes. Add the whole spices and give it a good mix and add the asafoetida to it and mix. Add the dry chilli and saute for 2 minutes.

    Add salt and all the powdered spices and cook them well. Cook everything together for 3 minutes and set it aside.
