    In a kadhai, pour in oil and add all the whole garam masalas and let them splutter. Add garlic, onions, shallots and green chilli and saute on a high flame for 2-3 minutes or until the onions turn translucent.

    Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for 30 seconds or until the raw flavour disappears. Add the tomatoes, curry leaves, and cook on a medium flame for 2- 3 minutes or until the tomatoes turn mushy. Add in all the powdered spices, and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the raw smell of the spices disappears, making sure not to burn them.

    Add the duck to the pan and mix thoroughly. Pour water and bring it to a boil. Cover and cook on a low-medium flame for 45 minutes or until the duck is tender. Pour coconut milk and bring it to a boil, garnish with mint, coriander and curry leaves along with black pepper powder and serve hot.
