    Heat oil in a pan and add cumin, asafoetida, crushed garlic and ginger. Saute for a minute. Add the onions and saute until it turns translucent.

    Add the diced potato and saute for 2 minutes. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and cumin powder. Mix & saute for a minute.

    Add the tomato and saute for another minute. Then add water, cover and cook for 6-7 minutes or until the potato starts getting soft but not mashy.

    You can test if the potato is cooked by cutting it with a spoon or fork. It should get cut but with some resistance. At this point, add beans along with a splash of water. Cover and cook for 5-7 more minutes or until the beans is cooked. Add garam masala powder and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and serve!
