In a kadai, heat gingelly oil. Fry vathal in the oil and take it out.

In the same oil, add mustard seeds, let it splutter, then add fenugreek seeds, dry red chilli, followed by curry leaves. Add green chilli and garlic and saute for a few seconds. Add shallots. Sauté till it turns light brown and soft, about 6-8 mins. Now add tomatoes and saute till they become soft.

Add Cookd Vatha kulambu masala and mix for a few seconds. Add water to this, mix and let it simmer for 15 minutes on a medium-low flame until thick. Add coconut paste. Adjust salt if needed.
