Method

    Heat Oil in a kadai, add mustard, cumin, green chilli and curry leaves. Let it crackle.

    Add the sliced onions and saute till it turns golden brown.

    Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

    Add the spice powders and saute till it loses its raw flavour.

    Add the tomatoes and let them cook till it is mashed and oil is released from the sides.

    Season it with salt and sugar. Mix it well.

    Heat oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste, and let it cook in the oil for a few seconds.

    Add the thokku and ¾ cup of water, mix it well. Add Garam masala and mix it well. Bring the thokku to a boil
