Cookd masalas for mung bean

Method

  1. 1

Rinse the green gram well. Soak it in the soaking water for 6 hours. Drain the soaking water.

  2. 2

Get ready: grate the coconut. Rinse the curry leaves, green chilli and coriander leaves. Remove the stalks from the dry red chillies, slit the green chilli and finely chop the coriander leaves.

  3. 3

Add the soaked green gram, pressure-cooking water and salt to a pressure cooker. Pressure cook on medium flame for 2 whistles, then switch off the flame and let the pressure release naturally. Open the cooker when the pressure settles; the gram should be soft but not broken. Drain any remaining water.
