    Wash the yam thoroughly once or twice. In a pressure cooker, add the yam and water, then pressure cook for about 15 minutes (6 to 7 whistles). Once it cools down, peel off the skin.

    In a kadai, heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, fennel seeds, onion, garlic, and green chili. Sauté for about 5 minutes.
