    Wash and soak the rice for 20 minutes.

    Heat oil and ghee in a pot, add the whole spices

    Add half of the slit green chillies to the pot and add the thinly sliced onions. Cook until the onions are translucent.

    Add the ginger garlic paste and continue to cook until the raw smell goes away.

    Add 1 cup each of coriander and mint leaves, cook for 1 minute. Reserve the remaining coriander and mint leaves for later use.

    Add the tomatoes and saute until mushy.

    Add Garam masala, kashmiri red chili powder, coriander powder, salt and curd. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.

    Add the mutton, lemon juice to the pot and saute for 5 minutes

    Add 3 Cups of water and cook the mutton for 25 minutes on medium high heat.

    Add 2 ½ cups of water and the soaked rice.

    Add the remaining green chili, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Cover the pot, seal with aluminum foil and Cook for 10 mins on low heat and remove from the heat. Let it rest for 5 mins before opening the pot. Serve hot with onion raita.

    please tell the measurement of water in ml instead of cup

    This recipe is really good and it came out really well but I wanted to point out that the spice level is too high. even when the recipe is scaled up, the red chilli powder is a bit too much. I followed the recipe exactly but I added a little less chilli powder than the mentioned quantity and it still became so spicy that it was inedible. I had to find ways to bring down the spice with sugar after it was cooked. do look into this.
