Roast the flattened rice evenly in a pan until crispy, mixing constantly. Cool completely.

Heat the oil and add the cumin seeds and garlic. Saute for a minute. Add the peanuts and coconut and fry until golden brown.

Add the curry leaves and mix well. Switch off the flame and add the raisins, salt, sugar and red chilli powder.
