Method

    Pour 1 cup water into a mixing bowl. Add the salt and 1 tsp of oil to the water. Add the Ragi flour and mix it continuously and quickly so that there are no lumps.

    Stir continuously and cook for 3 minutes When all the flour is mixed in properly, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover it and cook for 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, turn off the heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes, or until it has come down to a manageable temperature.

    Oil your hands. Divide this dough into three equal portions. Roll them into a ball. If it is still sticking to your hand, apply a little bit of oil on your hands, and then roll them. Serve with any gravy or lentil dish.
