    In a hot pan, roast peanuts, followed by dry coconut and sesame seeds Transfer it to a plate and cool it down.

    Add it to the mixer, along with red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Pulse it to make the filling. Slit the Kovakkai in a criss-cross pattern. Stuff it with the filling.

    In a pan, add oil and heat. Add the onions and saute till translucent. Place the kovakkai on it and cook on medium flame with a closed lid.
