Cookd masalas for raw rice

Method

    Wash the rice and soak for 3 hours.

    In a pan, melt the jaggery along with 1 cup of water. Strain it and let it cool.

    In a mixer jar, add the soaked rice, banana and half of the melted jaggery. Blend into a paste that is still a bit coarse.

    Add the remaining melted jaggery, salt and baking soda. Blend again to combine. Allow it to rest for 30 mins.

    In a pan, heat ghee and fry the sesame seeds for 30 seconds on low flame. Add this to the batter along with cardamom powder.

    In a Paniyaram pan, fill each cavity with 1 tbsp of oil. Pour the batter up to halfway through in each cavity. Cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.

    Flip it using a skewer or a fork. Cook for 2 more minutes. This can be eaten immediately or can be stored for up to 2 days.
