    In a bowl, separate 2 egg yolks from the eggs. We only need egg yolks for this recipe. Mix the cornstarch with the egg yolks to form a paste.

    Add the milk and sugar to a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Take this off the heat.

    Pour in a ladle of the milk into the egg yolk mixture and whisk well. Add approximately half of the milk into the egg yolk mixture, a ladle at a time. Whisk well.

    Add this mixture back into the milk. Heat the saucepan again over low heat, stirring continuously. Cook for 3 minutes on a low flame, until the mixture, has thickened. Add Vanilla essence to it.

    Turn off the heat, transfer the custard into another bowl. Cover it with cling wrap and poke a few holes to allow the heat to escape.

    Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

    Whisk the custard well after it is chilled.

    Cut the bananas and half an apple into small pieces. Cut each grape in half. Slice the Kiwi and half an apple.

    Fill the bottom layer of the serving dish with the chopped bananas, apples and grapes.

    Pour the chilled custard on top of the fruits.

    Arrange the remaining fruits on top. It can be served immediately, or chilled further in the refrigerator and then served.
