    Bring the milk to a boil. Add the chopped nuts.

    On medium heat, stir the milk regularly until it reduces to half of its original quantity, around 30-40 minutes. You can increase the flame to high if you are comfortable with stirring it vigorously. Keep scraping the sides at regular intervals, and adding them back into the milk.

    Once the milk has reduced, add sugar, saffron and cardamom powder. Boil further until the mixture thickens, 5-10 minutes.

    Once it has cooled slightly, transfer it into another dish. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.

    Once chilled, serve with a portion of the creamy top layer (malai). Optionally, garnish with more chopped nuts.
