Cut the cauliflower into florets. Wash and drain it. Then add salt, turmeric and enough water to cover. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan and add the whole spices (cinnamon, cardamom, clove, fennel seeds, kalpasi). Add the onion and saute until it turns translucent.

Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute. Add the green chilli, tomato, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder and garam masala powder. Saute for 3-4 minutes or until the tomato softens. Drain the cauliflower and add it to the pot. Add water, cover and cook for 5 minutes.

Prepare the coconut paste by grinding all the ingredients into a fine paste.

Add the coconut paste and water. Cover the pot partly with a lid and cook for 5 more minutes. Adjust the amount of salt, add coriander leaves, mix and turn off the heat. Serve with chapathi, Idiyappam or rice.
