Wash the rice, moong dal with some water. Remove the water and set them aside.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Saute the bay leaf and cumin seeds on a low flame.

Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, onion, and fry until fragrant. Sprinkle asafoetida.

Add tomato, carrot, beans, potato, salt, turmeric powder and saute for 2 minutes.

Add drained rice, moong dal and mix well.

Add 6 cups of water and mix well.

Pressure cook for 6 to 7 whistles on a medium flame. Let the pressure settle on its own.

Add 1 ½ cups of water and mix well on high flame for 2 mins.

Garnish with coriander leaves, more ghee, and serve it hot for lunch.
