    In a pan, dry roast the rice and moong dal separately until light golden brown and set aside.

    In a pressure cooker, add all the ingredients for pressure cooking, cook on moderate heat for 15 minutes or 5 whistles, and set aside.

    In a pan, pour ghee add the diced fruits, and saute on a moderate flame for 20 seconds or until the fruits slightly caramelise and set aside.

    In a kadhai, add the cooked rice and dal mixture, add in jaggery and saffron. Cook on a moderate flame until the jaggery dissolves (around 30 seconds) Adjust the consistency of the payasam by adding milk. Add in the sauteed fruits and mix thoroughly.

    In a tadka pan pour ghee and saute the cashews and raisins until golden brown
