    Heat a deep pot, add oil Add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf and let it crackle Add the onions and start sauteeing it Add curry leaves, green chillies and saute till the onions turns golden brown Add chopped coriander and mint leaves and saute for a few seconds Add the tomatoes and cook till it turns soft

    Add the chicken and the cookd chettinad masala and mix for 2 minutes Add curd and give it a good mix. Add water, bring it to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

    Open the pot, add the soaked and strained rice. Cook till the rice and water are level. Cover the pot with a fitting lid. Keep it on a preheated tawa for 15 minutes on a low flame. Turn off the flame after 15 minutes and let it rest for 10 minutes. Open the pot, add ghee, fluff the biryani and serve it hot.
